About Billie
Goodson graduated from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. While attending South, Billie was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Alabama Army National Guard in the Ordnance Corps. He would later come to the Huntsville-Madison area for the first time to complete his Officers Basic Course, planting a seed that would bloom later in life.
Goodson’s work as a civilian for the U.S. Government and in the private sector took him to several places across the country. After his four children graduated from high school, Goodson and his wife wanted to move back to the community that his Redstone Arsenal training days had led them to fall in love with: Madison.
“I am very passionate about this community. I got involved in the Madison Station Historical Preservation Society a number of years ago. I love history and Madison has a very rich one. I also think that we need to learn from that history and work together to make sure that Madison’s future is as bright as it can be.”

Goodson serves as the Chair of the Madison Police Advisory Committee and participated in the City’s first Civic Engagement Academy, last fall. He and his wife have lived in a historic, downtown neighborhood in Madison since 2016.
“Madison is my home, and I want to use my private sector experience to help the city grow,”
